Grades Of Concrete

Polished
This is typically done for countertops, but can be done with any concrete.
Diamond pads are used to bring the concrete up to a sheen similar to granite.
Another reason this may be done is to expose some of the sand or aggregate in the concrete for an Exposed-Agg look.
Premium Architectural
Crisp, straight edges for a modern and precise look.
Edges are rounded over minimally, at 1/16th of an inch.
Invisible fasteners - No marks or blemishes left in finish from screws or nails.
All plywood panels and tie-holes are planned out for the entire job according to a formula before starting so there is design continuity throughout the entire space.
No coatings that inevitably flake off or peel after a few years.

Architectural
Architectural concrete just means visible, and in our opinion the term is used too loosely.
Typical Architectural grade is what you would see in public spaces, which often has safety in mind over aesthetics.
You often see all corners and edges blunted with a 3/4 inch bevel, giving it that familiar look.
Layout of plywood seams and tie-holes may or may not be taken into account.
Foundation
With the exception of the top 8 inches, these walls are meant to be buried.
Plywood seams and tie-holes are random, and there is often woodgrain and major blemishes.
ONE MAJOR NOTE - Window-Wells are often formed in foundation grade without thought given to the fact that this will be seen every time a person looks out that window.
We suggest forming window wells in Premium Architectural grade.
